Dyed through the material, not coated. A coating never reaches these numbers, and it wears off. Colours shift visibly and blue disappears — this is the lens that works without making your evening unusable.
The evidence here is better than for the clear lens. Blue and green light in the evening suppresses melatonin, and filtering those wavelengths measurably reduces that effect. That is a statement about light, not about you.
